Typical examples for the successful strain development using the W42 Pichia pastoris expression system. Two prominent technical enzymes (D-Amino acid Oxidase, Glutaryl-7-ACA-Acylase) are produced by an methanol induced process resulting in strong improvement of enzyme production. The corresponding cost reduction was calculated for an European production plant.
