W42 has successfully used different systems for the production of technical enzymes. As host organisms we have utilised E. coli (different systems), Streptomycetes and recombinant yeasts. Those projects comprise the optimisation of the fermentation and the development and handling of specific enzyme assays and current methods for the purification of proteins.
Licence free recombinant yeast expression system
For our customers we offer a licence free innovative and independent yeast expression system (methylotrophic Pichia strains) for the advanced protein production based on methanol-dependent and methanol-independent induction mechanisms. Using optimised genes we reach maximum expression levels, up to 30 g/l of active protein. Furthermore W42 strains are easy to handle and characterised by an robust and highly reproducible productivity.
Development of the complete DSP.
For each project we will create a process for cell lysis, enzyme enrichment, enzyme stabilisation and enzyme immobilisation.
Development of the biocatalytic process.
Using your optimised technical enzyme we enable the efficient and cost reducing production of your fine-chemical or API. This includes the optimisation of all parameters e.g. pH, temperature, buffer… and the subsequent isolation/purification of your compound. |
